New Epson 7900/9900 Firmware - 14-JUN-12

There is a new firmware for the Epson 7900/9900.

HN01206140 – dated 14-JUN-12 – Posted on 27-JUN-12 on Epson UK.

Epson says this version:

• add new Paper Feed Adjust feature
• Add new Standard color calibration feature
• Improve the productivity of photo roll paper printing
• Improvement of the amount of suction fan for plain paper
• Improvement of printing from multiple client at the same time

Look like the same update is available for the 9890/7890 ...

Burried in the new user guide are some interesting details:

• New AUTO black ink switching option (p22)
• New cutter adjust options (p23)
• New paper feed adjustment features (p27)
• New AUTO cleaning times function (p30, p82, p93)
• New guidelines on how to shake ink cartriges (p71) "Remove the new cartridge from the package, shake the ink cartridge at least 15 times horizontally in approximately 5 cm movements"
• New max storage temp (40C) (p193)

Awesome, thanks for the post, and thanks for the cliffnotes on which pages to look at!  I was hopeful about the new cutter adjustment you mentioned.  Was hoping it was a slow cut feature that might cause less debris when cutting canvas.  I keep the cutter off due to that problem...

As noted by OP, this is is only on Epson's UK site.  If you are in the United States, this firmware upgrade, which sounds
most impressive, appears not to be supported.  I base this on the fact it's not listed on the Epson US. site under drivers.

Many new features improvements are listed, I wonder when the U.S. site will pick it up?

Hmmm...  Now the UK site is even down for maintenance. 
Has anybody in the US tried to apply the firmware updated?

Epson support says that "the UK uses different parameters and they only do firmware updates to resolve issues when they arise...if there are any issues that need to be addressed there will be [a US firmware update] but as of now, none are needed."
