Changing to a new external drive

I run LR on a PC with my Photo Library on an external drive. My Catalog is on my C drive . The External drive is the H Drive.
I have a larger external drive (1TB) that I want to start using; so I copied my Photo Library from current External Drive to the
new one.  I launched the LR with my usual catalog and of course with the new drive plugged in(and the old one not connected) LR did not
recognize the folders, collections, etc because the drive has a different letter assigned to it.  So I imported the Photo Library from the new
drive using Add to catalog.  The import worked but all my flags inside folders and all my Collections are empty!  So
how do I start using my new external drive with all my current images (16,000), my flags and collections. I must admit I am a little confused.

The best way would probably to have been to use the update folder location.

Right click on the folder, update folder location and then navigate to your image folder.

If you created a backup before you started you should be okay.

If not you may be able to remove your "last import" or keyword them all with something to distinguish them from the orignals then try to update the folder location.

Once successful remove the ones you have marked.

If you have just added them and not copied them DO NOT DELETE them.

If I'm following you, check your original external drive
For your LR catalog settings. Info such as collections are usually
Stored there instead of with the image files. You may be able to copy the light room
Settings folder from your first drive to the new drive and retrieve your collections.
