Will a 5 year old Z3100 refuse to profile with some inks and heads expired? The prints look normal to me.Peter

I think Peter it should still work fine. I've profiled with expired ink heads and ink. The issue I did find was it wouldn't profile matt papers/canvas due to some technical issue. The printer would make a test pattern, scan it but then fail with an error message - I hope yours is still working fine in this regard. I never resolved the issue, but am now upgrading to a Z3200 (My 5+ year old 3100 just died yesterday).

Died? What happened? Selling it off for spare parts? :)

I got an 08.xx error - display or mainboard failure last week. Reboots wouldn't work-  pulling the power supply etc. Funnily, I decided to turn it on today and it booted normally!

For a while I thought I'd cancel the order for the Z3200 but decided with issues over the last couple months with needing to reboot for various reasons and lost productivity not to mention not being able to profile/calibrate my canvas and art papers I'd still get the printer. Over in NZ HP were offering a $1500 rebate/trade - costing me around 10500 (around $8400US), so if they take it away all good. Otherwise I can keep it for parts or sell them.
