What is important is what she thinks. If she (and her husband) like it, then it's fine. I assume that others in the set focus on the bride rather than the flowers, so this one would make a nice variant, IMHO.

It's a wedding photo. I don't think "too cheesy" has any meaning at all in that context ;)

Also, it's kind of cool! She's probably not seen this photo before, but it's similar enough to the rest of the standard wedding fare to be pleasing, not weird. It's "unique" not "cheesy"!

I would rather die than own a print of it, myself, though ;)

+1

Weddings are (mostly) about the bride. The groom is a distant second. Make the bride happy and you've done your work.

Thanks haring for this opportunity to comment.

For me... as an artist who often dives a bit more into the meaning or subtleties of an image... this image screams..... “The bride isn’t important... it's the flowers which are more important than me!!!”

If you were making a series on a social commentary about the various perceptions of the role of women... this would be a cracker!.... but in a wedding portfolio – I for one would not be pleased to have this one presented to me.

Looks like a great in-fashion shot to me (as a wedding photog).  I also don' think you'll get much meaningful feedback from the general audience here, for wedding photos of a bouquet and bride ;)

As a woman, I agree with Julie. And the fact that the bride is OOF doesn't help my attitude ;)

As a wedding photog (is anyone else here commenting one?)  I can tell you with 100% certainly that brides LOVE these shots, they spent countless hours planning all the details, spent good money on them and WANT all the details covered like this in addition to the normal people shots.  In fact one of my friends here just landed the cover of our big wedding market mag...guess what the shot was?

It makes my eyes hurt. My eyes keep wanting to focus on the girl but obviously her being outside the field of focus I can't. I like the idea of it but it physically hurts my eyes :)

It is quite cheesy but then staged wedding photos often are - the whole thing can be a bit of a fairytale.  I like the idea but would prefer the brides eyes to be open and perhaps just a bit more depth of field so you could see them, but still shallow enough to keep the bouquet separated from her.
