i1 display and 30" cinema display - smooth gradients
« on: June 11, 2012, 11:44:35 am »

hello,

I've been using i1 display to try and calibrate my 30" cinema display (apple)

i'm using i1 profiler 1.3.2 ver.

using these settings:

CCFL
CIE Iluminant D65
120 cd/m
contrast ratio - native

ICC Profile Version 2
Large Patch size (default) - 478

after the measurements take place i create and set the profile.

i am using win 7 64.

my problem is that a simple black and white gradient looked smooth (as far as color transition) before the calibration,

where after it the gradient looks not as smooth as before. (visible on a few applications like CS5, lightroom etc.)

furthermore, when i drag the image out of my main monitor to my secondary one, which is a 10 years old CRT LG monitor, the gradient looks very smooth!

can some one shed some light?

thanks
