Maximum exposure time on B (bulb)
« on: June 11, 2012, 10:53:03 am »

I have just read with great interest Michael's report on the Olympus OM-D E-M5. Can someone tell me if that camera has a maximum time limitation when using Bulb? I currently have a Panasonic GH2 and was disappointed to discover that it has a maximum of 2 minutes in Bulb - not much use for capturing star trails!  If the OM-D E-M5 does have a limit, then perhaps its multiple exposure capability would be a way to work around the limitation.

DPReview's OM-D E-M5 review page showing the Exposure/Metering/ISO options menu shows a “BULB/TIME Timer” menu option, saying it determines the maximum exposure time. The longest choice appears to be 30 minutes. Search the page for “bulb” to see other options related to that.

Thanks for the reference Gary. It does seem that 30 minutes is the limit; much better than 2 minutes. Ian
