Hans Strand interview and test of Zeiss lenses
« on: June 05, 2012, 10:20:08 am »

I just found this interesting interview with Hans Strand and his opinion about Zeiss wide-angle lenses.

I Always love reading advertisements!

Edit:
Okay that was a little harsh as it's actually a pretty good read although a bit gushy. Fine  landscape photos.

I like Hans Strand's pictures, but not so much his advertisment stuff. Perhaps he really means what he says, but I don't really get that feeling. He's done similar things with Hasselblad. If I was so good and well-recognized and got money for doing something like that I'd probably do it myself too though :)

The interesting thing here is he obviously isn't using medium format with these zeiss lenses. I wonder what the camera is, a D800 perhaps?

Some Exif.

Others are with the D800E.

I checked the file info on some of the same images on his website. It is both D800 and D800E. He also writes on his "Image of the Month"  that he is now using D800E and is very impressed by it.

I wonder if he's using it exclusively, that is stopped using medium format all-together?

Edit: Oh, I've heard that he has used multiple formats in parallel all the time, so perhaps not so big deal then.

Pity most of those Zeiss wides make a Mies van Der Rohe building look like it was built by Frank Gehry...
