This was taken in low light in 2010 in the village of Ishkashim in the Wakhan Valley, which is alongside the Tajik-Afghan border. In postprocessing I've tried to keep it somewhat natural and representative of the actual conditions. What do you think of the postprocessing? I found it difficult to get the correct white balance, but hopefully it's okay now.

Canon 5D Mark II, 50mm f/1.4, 1/60s f/2.8 iso1600.

Not bad, Damon. My only criticism would be that the face looks a bit, what the Leicaphiles call "plasticky." I suspect you cranked the Clarity slider a bit too far to the right in ACR. It's easily fixable.

Thanks for your feedback Russ. I don't use ACR, but I guess you're referring to the local contrast on the skin being too much right?

Yeah, it seems a bit much. If I had the picture in ACR I'd drag the Clarity slider to a slightly negative value. But it's a small point. I really like the picture.
