An improvement over our plugin discussed in this thread is the latest creation to come out of TheNPG.com labs: the NPG Photo Manager Plugin for Lightroom.

This plugin allows the adding of QR codes directly to proofs of the master images--also created by the plugin--so that it's easy to locate the image when the proof is returned.  Creating contact sheets in Lightroom, where each of the images has their own QR code, is also as easy as selecting the images and starting the NPG Contact Sheets function in the plugin.

What good is adding a QR Code to an image if you can't do anything with it?  This is why the plugin also incorporates the NPG QR Scan function where you can use a cheap USB webcam to scan all of the images you wish to find in your active catalog, and when the scanner window is closed, the plugin locates the master images within seconds and adds them to a collection.

If you tick the "Add URL to QR code" check box in the NPG Configurator, the customer can scan the image themselves and visit a mobile-optimized website that let's them find out more information about the image, and contact the photographer.  This feature is currently being expanded on the server-side to also allow purchasing of the image, and traffic reporting.

What are your thoughts on this?  Can this plugin add value to your workflow?
