Storm over Phuket

Playing with a DIY lightning trigger and the results are fairly promising so far.
Just need to watch the ambient exposure of windows.

Impressive bolt. I can't help thinking that it would be a much better photograph if you crop all the buildings, which are dull and unattractive, off the bottom, keeping just the hill in the distance and the sky.

I'd pay good money for something that allowed me to trigger lightning!

Funny, a couple of people have said the same thing, and the detail at the hill top is not too bad, close-up. I will play with the raw when I get home.

One from tonight taken with a 100mm f2.8 macro. Almost the full frame shown, only the length being cropped to print size. At 200% you can see the strike and return path are almost the same.
