ok, I'm back for more critique - glutton for punishment maybe??

This is the TSS Earnslaw, the 1912 steamer than still runs around Lake Wakatipu. Reportedly the only coal-fired passenger steamship still commercially operating in the southern hemisphere.

Matt, I'm not thrilled by the post-processing that left such obvious haloes, but I really like the picture.

Thanks Russ,
I think my focus for the near future needs to be working on my pp skills.

I'll revisit this one from scratch I think - with less heavy-handedness!

I agree with Russ.  It does have great potential, though!

I really like the composition and perspective and the idea of the black and white.  I think that it may benefit from some vignetting to compliment that look, too.

The details are great - the kiwi flag (silver fern), someone on deck, someone on the wharf, the ropes, lines, etc - all great.

A revisit without halos could turn this into a real winner.

Processing is the weak point of the image. Fortunately, it's easy to correct.
Other than that, it's a beautiful photo!
