Age might come into it, but bibcul8r originated from telex operators before I was an adult (I'm 42), and I was never a telex operator.

The l33t sp34k has been around for over a decade and, again, I was never a l33t h4x00r d00d, but it doesn't take much to figure it out either way - you just have to keep your eyes and mind a little open.  What's more difficult is when words are assigned new meanings, but context is usually enough (at least after a few references).

Point being, the OP's text was hardly worth commentary when what was asked of us was to comment on the image.

Other point being, this is LuLa: the obvious is seldom enough but the over-cryptic also falls flat on its fanny. Difficult but rewarding place to navigate as long as it comes in a proper language form.

Then try this for obvious, difficult but rewarding:

Total random sidebar, and a bit of a shameless self promoting plug, although it is on topic for this thread.... :)

For reasons unknown to me, my image of Thor's well from a couple years ago made it to the top ten/front page of reddit.com in the Pics category this morning. It's received a couple thousand views in a few short hours. Strange how the internet works!

Scary stuff!

Maybe, but I am sure you can read it quite easily, if only after the first couple of words.

....and intriguing. Do you have any links to an explanation of how the mind does it?

No, but I suspect it has a lot to do with Gestalt laws of perception (i.e., proximity, similarity, continuity, closure).

Hey Sheldon,  so funny.
I actually e-mailed you on flickr to find out where this spot was and you gave great directions, it's cool to see you here on the forum.

I know, that's what's scary: I don't understand why it suddenly flashes into a readable form.

I agree, Rob.  Absolutely scary.  How quickly the mind adapts.
