Backing Up CS6
« on: May 12, 2012, 02:53:48 pm »

My uninstallation of the CS6 beta and the installation of Photoshop CS6 from the Adobe website went fine.  I want to back up whatever files are needed for a reinstall if my hard drive goes south.  I saw something in the Readme that said to place the files in the same place as they were downloaded to.

I downloaded and unzipped the installer Photoshop13 exe file in a folder on C: that I named, long ago, Downloads To Install.  After running that, I ended up with a folder named "Adobe CS6" on my desktop, navigated to the Setup file, and installed CS6.  I would like to put the files on a DVD to have a backup.

1)Should I copy just the Adobe CS6 folder from my desktop, or do I also need to copy the installer files in my Downloads To Install folder?

2) If I need to reinstall, do I need to put the Adobe CS6 folder back on my desktop?

I would archive the installer file you downloaded and delete the Adobe folder on your desktop.

Thanks.  It makes sense, now that you mention it.
