LR4 Print Brightness scale?
« on: May 07, 2012, 09:01:27 am »

I'm playing around w/ the Brightness slider in the LR4 Print module
since I find I still need to add approx .3-.5 exposure to my prints to get a brightness
match (even though the monitor is still set for 95cd/m2 and I think I'd prefer
not to dive down into 80-85 zone) for my living room wall (looks fine under my Solux
bulb at 18+" distance)

Anyway, does anyone (Jeff?) know what the Brightness slider scale (0-100) (vs. added f/stop)
is?  I ran some test prints last night on Ilford Pearl and 20 was a tiny bit insufficient whereas
40 was too much.

Raise or lower the print viewing conditions or display to produce a match. 95cd/m2 is real, real low for a modern LCD. Difficult to hit.

Once you hang the prints anywhere outside the view of the display, it doesn’t matter if the two match or not.
