I have run into a strange situation, and am assuming it's a setting I have missed.

I often use LR to work up web views  of larger files I have developed.  These files may are most often in the Prophoto colorspace and tifs.
On import the images appear fine in both the library and develop module, but when I hit web, after LR makes the conversions, the images
displayed are heavily over saturated.  This still under the web tab.  If I export the files and open them in CS5 or any other color managed
program, they appear fine, converted to sRGB and ready for the web.  If while still in LR with the Web tab open I hit display in browser,
the images appear fine also, no over saturation.

My OS is win7 64 bit, LR4 64 bit, Monitor NEC 3090 with spectravision, monitor profile is correctly loaded in windows.

Have I missed a setting?

Thanks
Paul

This is normal especially for red tones.
I have a photo with fire which displays correctly (strong) on my Dell U2711 while on Flickr is almost disturbing.
Small gamuts are not intended for photo viewing :(

What web browser? Sounds like it isn’t color managed.

For me, Safari on OS X 10.7.3. It's definitely color managed :)

Well is saw a disconnect in colors in Safari (all color managed browsers) with Flash Galleries on a wide gamut display in 3.X and earlier versions of Lightroom but that should have been fixed in 4.0.

Are these web galleries Flash or HTML?

As you can read above, plain Flickr. No Flash whatsoever. Good old HTML :)

I stepped away from this issue, but wanted to bump it back.

More details.
I am running win7 64 bit on 2 PC's.  LR 4.1 64 bit, Gibabyte  GTX 470 nvidia chipset, One PC has a NEC 2690, the other has a NEC 3090, both
running spectravision and color managed.

My goal: to use the web module to convert images in mass from prophoto to sRGB.
My workflow: I import the images as prophoto, and then move to the web module.
Note, when viewed in the develop module, the images are fine
My problem: after I move the web module, and display the images in a Lightoom HTML gallery, the files when viewed in Lightroom (by double clicking on the
   thumbnails) are very over saturated.
If I export the files as they are: I get the following.
When opened in CS or any color managed program like breezebrowser, the images are correct,  they open as sRGB and the colors appear correct.
However it appears LR leaves the images at 240 dpi not sure why this is.
In LR, if I double click on the thumbnail, the image is over saturated, if I select view the image in a browser, the image opens correctly as far as color, not over saturated.

I have reset my pref. file and still have the issue.  I realize that it's a "view only" issue, but it still bothers me and I would appreciate any ideas as to how to fix.

My browsers are Firefox or Internet explore 64 bit.  Again images appear OK in both.

Thanks

After a long call with Adobe, I was able to get this issue resolved.

They had me close LR, go to appdata==roaming==adobe==lightroom==web galleries.

Delete the web galleries folder totally, even though it was empty, then restart LR, and re-import and presto. works great!!.

This fixed the issue on both of my machines, running NEC monitors.

Images still seem to export at 240 dpi, but I can always resolve this.  Nice to be able to view the
files correctly

Both the NEC monitors you mention are wide-gamut.  I read somewhere that LR uses Internet Explorer internally to render in web module.  Even though your monitors are calibrated/profiled, IE - even IE9 - isn't properly colour managed.  It ignores monitor profiles.  On wide-gamut monitors, the web preview will tend to be a bit over-saturated.  Certainly that way for me.

Try removing the web gallery folder and see if it doesn't fix it.

Not sure what is going on with that,  but it worked on both systems 2690 and 3090.

I did that, and it does seem to have changed - thanks.  Odd that, I was sure it was using IE to render in web module but I don't think it does now.

It's amazing actually, something so simple.   :D  This had been driving me crazy since I had to go and check
all the images.
