Seeking multi-mount bracket
« on: April 19, 2012, 12:28:45 am »

I  saw this video recently (and I suspect it was produced by The Luminous Landscape) that shows these guys photographing around a stream. One of the photograhpers had this rather larger square bracket attached to a tripod. Attached to the inside bottom of the bracket was a large format camera; and on the top outside of the bracket was a  small digital point-and-shoot camera. I think the camera on top was being used mainly as a light meter. I want to try the same kind of thing with a 4x5 Linhof Technika camera.

Any suggestions for a multimount device that's similair to what I've described above?

Thanks in advance,

- Jeff

Is it possibly the Ditmar Nill head?

Sounds like an alpa attached to a arca swiss cube with the alpa iPhone viewfinder adaptor.

Nice equipment, but it wasn't the Nil or Arca tripod head. It was essentially 1.5" wide by ~.180" thick metal shaped into a large square.

Given the Technika's rigid aluminum body, I'm going to try using a tripod screw to flashshoe adapter to mount a small point-and-shoot directly on top of the field view camera.

Paradigm change, maybe the smart phone is the way to go...
