Impending sunset and an approaching storm front converge to give the Namib Desert an eerie, almost surreal, glow.
Taking this shot itself was almost a surreal experience. There it was, an immense line of black thunderheads looming overhead, lightning bolts exploding in the distance, the occasional funnel cloud forming and dissipating. Ostriches, impalas and people alike were all running or driving in the other direction, getting away as quickly as possible. And there I was, a lone, idiot photographer getting out of the car, perching myself beneath a dune, setting up a tripod...
