Memjet
« on: April 15, 2012, 07:41:31 pm »

I see that LG and Lenovo both produce a Memjet printer model.  Has anyone here seen its output?  Seeing it's only CMYK and carts cost $200 each, I think it's limited to those needing high speed and limited color.

Office printer in the first place. Fixed, single array, thermal head that uses dye inks. I have followed the LG, Lenovo, Medion, etc announcements now 18 months ago and not seen a single one shipped till I called my paper supplier some weeks ago who told me he had one running in their office for a week. Amazed at the speed.
In the label industry Memjet technology is more widely used in practice. Be aware that replacement of that head will be expensive for an office printer. The long and thin ink channels in the head assembly could make the use of pigment inks difficult.
