I agree. When I first looked at it, I immediately started moving the sheep around (in my mind).
I didn't really find a better location for them.

It would be more visually bucolic without the bright sheep in the leftmost corner, too distracting and unbalanced. Content Aware Fill, anyone?

Alternatively, I would play with a square composition, eliminating the right tree, but keeping the sheep... seems more balanced, to me at least.

Yeah, I think Slobodan's right. That sheep on the left belongs in the upper right corner of the picture. That would create a nice diagonal through the limbs of the tree on the left up to the sheep. The rules of composition would make it a winner.

OK, I understand now. I had mused on the nearmost sheep's presence; and CAF is indeed a wondrous thing.

 - another for Slobodan (yes, a few branches need to be deleted);
 - one for Russ (please add a big red line showing the diagonal, Russ, in case I've made a mistake);
