Fog and Pines - New Zealand Sth Island
« on: April 07, 2012, 08:29:30 am »

I shot this almost a year ago and its resided in my Lightroom library far too long. One of those serendipitous moments; drove around the corner on my way to Kaikoura very early in the morning - a thick fog and the rising sun just starting to burn through.

Thoughts and comments welcome as always

You are shooting some good stuff.
Great capture of a really moody moment.

Your stuff is always good, and this scene is no exception. Like many good pictures, this one has simplified the elements of the composition down to the essentials - trees, mountains, sky, in nicely receding planes. The only thing which I am not sure about is the sun. It's a good thing that we are in no doubt where the light source is, but the result of that is that we lose the top L/H corner, which always make me uneasy. Particularly as I always print with a wide border.
