Old and Alone
« on: March 26, 2012, 02:32:37 pm »

Miguel:

I'm interested in your thoughts on including the orange/black area to the left in this image. For me, the image has a decidedly different feel when I crop down to just the Senora. I like both versions.  The orange/black kind of looks like a "danger barrier" to me. Certainly it makes my eye wander back and forth. Just wondering about your thought process, this is an interesting one.

Gracias, Roberto.

I've printed it both ways, but prefer this ( the way I saw it) because it's a bit disconcerting. Straight it's too predictable.

Gotcha. I kind of thought you were going to say "in SMA it's all about the colors."  Keep being unpredictable!

The bar is important.
Its the borderline to what comes after being old and alone.
Life is short !

Apart from which, it's a hell of a kick!

Also, points up what I wrote somewhere else today about the huge mental differences induced by MF and small digital camera psychologies.

Small is often best.
