« on: March 23, 2012, 11:04:43 am »

Here's one from Manu National Park in Peru. There are over 1000 species of bird in this one park alone

What an incredible place!!

You know I think that little twig leading straight down helps this composition.  The bird is frozen, looking right at it.  Maybe as a wood pecker he is looking for grubs in a hole we can't see, but that does not matter. It is good to see you gave him some room above his bill to make a peck if he wants to. It is interesting to see how his colors match the other natural browns on the tree.  The blurred background works very well.  It helps outline the bird and does not distract us away from the bird.  Nice job!
