Canon 5d MKII sensor cleaning error #6
« on: March 22, 2012, 03:21:01 pm »

I've looked around at for some info on various forums
but didn't find anything.

This camera was converted to IR only by MaxMax and presents this
error whenever the camera is turned on or off.  Previous to the conversion
the Sensor Cleaner function worked normally without error.I've tried all the settings
for the Sensor Cleaner with the same result. Have a call into MaxMax.

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this error or with MaxMax's support?

It's because sensor cleaning is defeated (turned off) with the MaxMax modification, one of the reasons I did not have it done to my 5DII, BTW I was happy with the MaxMax mod on my 5D.

PS You will have to invest in sensor swabs and eclipse fluid

Yes the mod removes the ability for the sensor cleaning but you must also set the menu item on the camera to cleaning off, otherwise you will get the error. In other words the camera is still trying to activate the cleaning hardware and it is returning an error so it displays that, so disable on the menu screen and you should not see this error anymore.
