ektachrome T64 "electronic output"
« on: March 16, 2012, 11:55:56 am »

does anyone know what the difference is (if any) between the discontinued ektachrome T64 and the ektachrome T64 electronic output film? has anyone tried shooting with the "electronic output" film in camera through a normal lens? does it work? very grateful for any help. thank you.

I don´t have the datasheet for the "electronic output" version but I can only guess this is the successor to the former "duplicating" slide film.
the gradation is probably much softer than usual daylight film, and probably the whitepoint is more tungsten orientated.

I used the Slide duplicating film years ago for MF (did my own 120+220 rolls from 30m rolls)
Was very neice to shoot, a dream to scan, probably the best side film I ever had, but very unsensitive maybe 15-25 ASA

back in the day i think i shot some of it? can't honestly remember how it came out, think there's a few boxes of 10x8 64t that was out of date when i bought it. think it was £10 a box! shot all of my tests on it.
halcyon days :'(

Are you sure that it wasn't just Kodak's bog-standard 'specialist' film balanced for exposure to Tugsten lighting instead of daylight? I used to have the odd roll of it in the studio back then...

actually it was fuji electronic output film. i think it was a bit contrasty and was more towards daylight than tungsten, having given it a bit more thought the shot of the pistons on my website may have been shot on it
making that shot the oldest one in my book, it's been tweaked massively in PS and the original is very blue.

Never knew Fuji could produce Ektachrome.
