EPSON double profiling in LR4
« on: March 15, 2012, 07:16:29 pm »

I just noticed that when selecting RGB profile in LR4's print module, the Print Mode and Color Mode in the Print dialog are grayed out. I'm, trying to do double profiling for EPSON's(Epson 9900 printer) advanced B&W, as per Jeff Schewe's sugestion. Is this no longer possible?

Thanks
Using Mac OSX

On the Mac, no...recent Epson drivers have precluded using both application managed color management AND print color management. So, you can't do that any more on Mac. Note, this is a print pipeline design and not Epson's "fault" per se...it's just the way it is now. Ironically, this change was designed to prevent double color management for color...it also had this unintended result when using the special ABW mode...not sure Epson would go back.

Thanks Jeff, I guess I will have to use the EPSON color management for advanced B&W...
