Perhaps not the most spectacular of the 300+ species of hummingbirds in the world. Nevertheless the Royal Sunangel is certainly unique! Restricted to a small area of northern Peru and Southern Ecuador these birds are such a beautiful shade of deep royal blue. I was thrilled to find one after a few days searching

Glenn:
A lovely image as always. The fellow looks like he knows he is handsome. Being hummingbirds, they must be small? But the depth of field fall off makes his tail almost a part of the bokeh. Maybe one stop less would have his tail in focus.
