Schewe, a black shirt!!! really???

Sorry, I had to say it...

P.D.: If there is a reason for that, I deeply apologize for this post...

Yeah...I decided the whole Hawaiian shirt contest was, well, old. Mike always looks the same so I went with simple black (which is what I wear 99% of the time anyway).

Think of it as an ode to Lightroom...basic black.

I think Jeff has lost quite a bit of weight - well done Jeff.

I hope the weight loss hasn't changed his mellow disposition!   ;)

I would have preferred 18% grey.   ;)

Got to watch to the intro tonight. Good stuff, looking forward to the rest. :)

After the black shirt, another question is what about the pattern in the back of Jeff's MacBook Pro's screen ? I have always been wondering what it was. :)

Years ago i was at an Apple meeting in Cupertino where about 40 of us were all sitting around a big table...everybody's laptop looked the same (and a couple of guys got theirs mixed up). In the Apple Store was a set of self stick textures to put on the front to make it easier to pick up. We all bought them and started customizing our laptops...

Sadly they aren't made any more (that I can find) so I've been moving my last remaining strips computer by computer...

Sure makes it a lot easier to lift out of the computer bag at the airport!

Not made any more ?? Damn!! I threw out a pack last time I moved house :-(

While we're making personal comments, which is the real Jeff? The curmudgeon we read on the forum, or the funny, avuncular guy on the videos?

Yes...all of above...I am a "curmudgeon" sometimes, but other times I take mercy on newbies...not so much on Mike cause he should know better...for others, understand I suffer fools reluctantly.

(but I do try...)

Yeah...I decided the whole Hawaiian shirt contest was, well, old.

In that case, thank goodness I was one of the lucky winners of the "guess the number of Jeff's shirts" contest from C2PS!   ;D

(chose Jeff's shot from Moab, Utah BTW)

Great to have the LR4 videos out so quickly, enjoying them so far.

Well done. It's much more difficult this time.

Thanks for the nice story, Jeff!
I was wondering whether it was some kind of a logo. :)

As I am going through the videos, I can say it is a pleasure to listen, even for parts that I thought I was already knowing well. Good stuff!

My guess is that since you now finally have soft proofing, you want to be able to acurately judge color on the screen without the reflections from a wild Tommy Bahamas, or equivalent, shirt! :)

BTW, I purchased the new LR4 tutorial. Excellent!

Cheers.

Yeah, that's it...I switched to black to help soft proofing!!!

Good idea :~)

I too am enjoying and learning from the new Lightroom 4 advanced tutorials, and so couldn't resist this thread. Seeing Jeff's post about the adhesive strips for his MacBook Pro, I just did a google search for "texture strip adhesive laptop" and the first hit was this:

http://grip-it-strips.com/

I think these must be the same product. Now everyone's laptop will look as though they bear a logo for the Badlands . . .

Yep...that looks like the same deal. Cool, thanks for posting...now I can get some new ones and redecorate! (I was literally running out of them).
