You have nice light, great color, and an interesting scene; I hope it's not necessary to "fire up photoshop" to salvage something from that combination. Being an armchair photographer for the moment, I like the sweeping water in the foreground, and then I see that piece of land on the left that is the terminus of the streambank that is just barely out of view where you are standing. That makes me wonder if it would be possible and beneficial to include that land all the way to the bottom of the frame. You'd then have a sweeping form of both the water and the land taking the viewer's eye out into the far distance of the photograph.
