New ICC Profile Not Showing in CS4
« on: February 24, 2012, 05:53:05 am »

I created a new ICC using the QTR last night. I installed it in the file
'Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color'. However. Photoshop does not list the new
ICC. I double checked in the folder and the file is there. I restarted Photoshop
before looking for the file and even re-booted the system. Still no new ICC
listed.

I then took a bunch of unused ICCs and put them in a folder to reduce the size
of the list. This change is not showing up in Photoshop either.

I checked the 64-bit files and the '\color' file is empty.

Do I need to do something special to get Photoshop to update the list? This has never been a problem in the
past with other ICCs.

Looks like I solved my own problem. Apparently I had a naming issue. Another post led me to the link http://www.tlbtlb.com/links/ that allows you to check the internal ICC file name - this has to match the Windows file name. In this case, they did not. I changed it and then ICC it appeared in Photoshop as it should.

I really enjoy using old primes on my m4/3 camera. There's something about having to choose your aperture and actually focusing your camera that makes it so much more like... like... PHOTOGRAPHY!
