Weathered Ice
« on: February 23, 2012, 01:24:17 am »

Hey all. I shot this piece of weathered ice south of Kodiak Alaska while out on a hike with the dog. There wasnt much interesting in the color photo so i decided to convert it to B&W. A little added contrast and dodging and burning really helped to bring out the texture of the ice! let me know what you think!

Very nicely proportioned and a good way to give an otherwise overlooked element top billing. Well done!

The similar textures in the foreground and background are pleasing. Nice! Scott

Thanks All! I'm working on a panoramic of 3 images that feature this piece of ice. I'll post it when I find the time to finish stitching it together!
