Manual focusing lens for GH2
« on: February 17, 2012, 10:43:37 am »

I am looking for a good lens for my GH2 to use to focus manually. I have the 20 mm lens and find it doesn't work well enough for me.

Ideally in the micro 4/3 rage of 15 to 30 mm.

Also am looking for a 12 mm lens and wondered if the Olympus 12 mm micro 4/3 lens works well with the GH2.

Thanks,

There's the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 lens. That's manual focus. (The link is to an article on this site.)

I have the Voightlander lens and it is unbelievably easy to focus, particularly when at a wide aperture.  It gets a lot harder when stopped down though!  Lovely image quality and so good in very low light.

I knew about the Voigtlander 25mm f/0.95 lens and might go that route when I have saved up the necessary cash. I do have a couple of k mount pentax lens so I might get an adaptor for $50 on eBay and try them first.

Many thanks to all.

David, I also have a number of old Nikon F lenses, manual focus and aperture rings, with an adapter and these too are very easy to use on the GH2.  I have recently shot quite a bit of video and these lenses are good for that too.

Sorry, didn't realize that adapted lenses were an option. I bought a $30 eBay adapter for my old FD lens collection, and use the 50/1.4 (totally lousy below f/4) and my ancient Tamron 90mm macro lens (awesome at all apertures.)
