Flickr Re-Publish settings
« on: February 15, 2012, 10:05:59 pm »

Hi, sorry if this is a stupid question.

Is there a way to keep LR from automatically trying to Re-Publish a photo that I've editing since it was originally published to flickr?  I want the photos on flickr to stay as they were originally published, but LR doesn't seem to like that idea and I can't figure out how to get the photos out of the "Modified Photos to Re-Publish" collection (is that called a collection?).  Now if I add a new photo to flickr, LR will update a whole bunch of others at the same time.

Thanks!

So far as I know this feature has been included in LR4 Beta, but I don't think there's any facility for it in LR3.x  Could be wrong, though.

You may find Jeffrey Friedl's Flickr plugin handles this issue.

That is indeed what I use.  I prefer his to the included version.

Thanks for the tip on Jeffrey Friedl's plug in.  I just did some reading on it and it sounds like a winner.  I'll be installing it this weekend when I have a little more time.

I was also wondering if this problem could be avoided by only posting virtual copies of all my photos.  Has anyone tried that?  I guess that could get messy.

Thanks again.
