SD-1 on sale now at reduced price

If anyone is interested, Sigma yesterday reduced the price on the existing SD-1's and is selling them from its website (while they last) at $2299.  When they are gone, one will have to wait for the manufacture of the renamed (but same) model.  I was interested because of the ease of using it for infrared, and already having infrared filters for my old SD-14. --Barbara

I had an old Sigma SD9 (My first digital slr) I like the look of the sensor and the very nice controls, but Sigma SLR's are 5+ years behind everyone else.

The appeal depends entirely on what you're looking for in a camera.  I don't need speed in writing to card, or focus on a touch-screen, just for example.
