Advanced Guide to LR 4
« on: February 09, 2012, 11:40:56 am »

Question to Chris: The introductory offer suggests there will be a chapter for new users but is unclear if this precludes the LR3 tutorial. Will beginners need to go through the older tutorial or can they just start fresh with the new tutorial being sure to start at the beginners's chapter first?

Will there be a discount available for people who bought the earlier versions?  (I missed out on claiming discount last time and paid the asking price! - not usual behaviour for a Yorkshireman!)

The Introduction to LR4 combined with the Advanced Guide will cover a new user's needs.
These two tutorials will be bundled in the current Pre-Release promotion.

But if you want to start today, the LR3 tutorial is the best place to start.

Yes, but not until the tutorial is complete in May or June. The current discount is considerably more than the future discount for previous customers.

There will be no overlapping of discounts. IOW: no discounts on discounts  :)

Hi Chris,

To be clear, there will never be an Lr4 video to cover every single aspect and nuance; such as is covered in the Lr3 video.  At any price.
Is this correct?

To have the most in-depth information one is obliged to fork out for the two.  Doesn't sound right to me.  Nothing to do with cost BTW.
But if I'm adopting Lr at version 4, why should I buy a version 3 tut?  Hope I misunderstood.

Yes, you have misunderstood. There will be two tutorials. A beginners guide and an advanced guide. These will be sold separately, and also as a bundled product.

This is to help lower the price for those people who are ready familiar with the basics, to make the downloads smaller for those with  bandwith issues.

The current pre-sale pricing is for the bundle of both together. It's the best price that we will be offering for the combined product.

Thanks Michael,

That's alright then.  It wasn't quite clear that the Lr3 videos will become redundant once the "beginners" and "advanced"
Lr4 videos are out.  And good idea for splitting the new videos.

Regards,
Ian

No, not without violating NDAs...but the beta of LR 4 expire March 31st, so the odds are before then.

:-[ there was me thinking "the" date had been posted but I take your (educated  ;) ) point that the release is maybe likely before the Beta expires???
