Lee ND Polyester filters?
« on: February 06, 2012, 07:34:14 am »

Anyone using these? I know they'll be way more fragile than the usual resin filters, and that the ProGlass option will be the best. I was just wondering if these filters have an adverse effect on IQ, compared to resin or glass filters? Could be a cheap way to get started, and it seems that these filters are actually available for purchase, contrary to many of the other lee filters.

Never noticed any image degradation in using the Lee polyester filters. Yes, they are less durable than resin, but better than gelatine filters and I think less expensive. They also can be easily cut and put in back of lenses.

I use these on my fish eye lenses since you can't filter the front. I use them to tweak the color balance to keep my lenses some what close in color rendition.
