The Very Best ambient light meter to an Eizo CG 245W ?
« on: February 01, 2012, 12:08:55 pm »

I have just upgraded my monitor from:
ViewSonic 21" CRT to Eizo CG245w.
(I have also bought the LL color-management videos. Good !
This seems to be an never ending subject and I will try it once more.)
;D

I first calibrated monitor-gamut + standard (instead of grayscale).
It all turned out very magenta compaired to print (under daylight tubs).
 :-[

This was strange !
 ???

Yes the print light looked very green (now) so maybe that was it.
But I have had a very good match with the CRT.
(calibrated manually by adobe gamma and an AIM target)
 :-\

After some thought (and observation) I  now recalibrated to adobe-
gamut and gray-scale (intead of standard) whitepoint 5500.

I also added just a little little tiny manual ajustment of the white
point (left into the YG area).

This was it. Now very very good print match
 :)

(maybe even better and the old CRT. Hard to say this monitor is more
even in every way.)

---------------------------
Now I have to investigate and compare daylight tubes to see what
suits me best. What is the best color meter to measure and evaluate
these tubes.

I want to be able to use these measurements in the calibration
process.

So it have to be VERY exact.
No more afterwards tweeking please !

I can of course not use the built in meter.

OK !

I have tested the  i1 dDisplay Pro !

Works fine.   ;D  I think it measures the white point correct.  ;D
I use it just as a luxmeter in the paper plane.
