I bought a Canon 70-300 L to replace both my 70-200 F4L IS and my fixed 300mm F/4.
The 70-200 has been lightly used. It's a 10, I see no markings or scratches of any kind. Bought on Amazon. All original goodies, and box in perfect condition.
I also had the original non IS 70-200, which I gave to a family member. The new one is the same compact size and crazy good optics, with with GREAT latest generation IS. Very small and extremely high quality.
Over the holidays several closed on ebay for between 950 and $1,070. There are used ones on Amazon for $950.
I'll go $925 net to me and throw in UPS Ground Insured in the lower 48. My ebay userid is dabobt.
