On the Way to the End of the World - Antarctica
« on: January 02, 2012, 02:36:21 am »

I have finally finished my Antarctica 'what worked and what didn't' debrief. It was an amazing trip and I can't wait to go back.

On the Way to the End of the World.

Edit: In case anyone asks: This was processed out with zero vibrance and zero saturation. The colour palette in Antarctica is quite literally surreal.

That's a gorgeous shot, including humans there is a nice change over all the barren or abstract photos from Antarctica.

I've always wondered about the palette, I always thought that the photos from there have saturation and vibrance jacked up to 11. Looks surreal indeed!

Wow, that is a really amazing and beautiful picture, I just can't believe it's completely real and with no major changes what so ever, even can make one think the big piece of ice was photoshoped,  but now I see that maybe a lot of those antartica pictures I've seen are 100% the real stuff.

The picture is really great, very well composed and really tells you something, besides letting one admire the beauty of that place.

It's real. Someone suggested on the trip that you may as well increase vibrance and saturation in these shots as viewers are going assume you've done it anyway, but they don't need it.

Great writeup, Josh. And nice images, by the way. I agree about not needing to add any vibrance or saturation to the images, as they just don't need it.

All the best-
