Eric, that's a very optimistic image! Did you see the tin over the exhaust in an effort to keep out the rain, as in "I'll get round to fixin' it later..." Not only HOM but also SpirtOM.

"I'll get round to fixin' it later..." reminds me of a farmer I once knew. I was visiting him and his wife in their kitchen one day, and noticed they kept a big kettle of water on the wood stove to have a ready supply of hot water whenever needed. I also noticed both hot- and cold-water pipes coming to their kitchen sink.
When I inquired, I learned that they had fetched water in buckets from a nearby stream for quite a number of years. Why? Well, it seems the pump in their well had quit, and when the farmer took it apart, he found that there was just one little part needed, probably worth about 39 cents. He contacted the pump maker and learned that his pump hadn't been manufactured in over forty years, and the part was not available.
He wasn't willing to shell out for a whole new pump when all his needed was a simple little part, so he hauled water by hand for the rest of his life.
I suspect he imagined that when he had time, he'd figure out a way of jury-rigging a replacement part...later!
