trouble uploading profile photo

I have tried several times to upload a photo for my profile. It will show the file after I click "upload a picture" but when I save the changes it turns into the blue square w/ question mark and the picture doesn't appear on my profile.

Make sure that the image is what is says it is (i.e. if it's a jpeg that it ends in .jpg) -- that's typically what happens if an image extension is mismatched with it's actual type.
