Favourite Image of 2011
« on: December 29, 2011, 10:56:15 am »

2011 has been a crazy year of bird photography for me. With trips to Ecuador, Costa Rica, All over BC, Newfoundland and Churchill I definitely racked up some air miles. It is really hard to pick ONE favourite from this year. But if I had to I think I would choose this image from Costa Rica of a Violet-crowned Woodnymph Hummingbird emerging from a small stream in the forest. I had dreamed of taking a photo like this for a long time and it was a great thrill to execute my vision.

Wishing you all a very happy New Year!

Wow, that is an exceptional image. I cannot imagine how you got it. Are you willing to describe?

Glenn,

Having taken the time to scroll down through about the first half of your best shots for 2011 so far, I am astonished.
I'd love to see your "worst" shot from 2011, if you even have one!

That is a huge and stunning set for only one year. May your 2012 be even better (if possible).

There are some stunners there. As good as I've seen anywhere.

Hi Glenn-

That is an exceptional photo. I looked at your site for a while and am so impressed with the quality of your images. They are breathtaking. The depth of field and image detail in your photos is incredible. I try not to be an equipment junkie, but if you don't mind, I would really like to know what lens(es) you are using.

Thank you for letting me see your pictures.

Sincerely,

Michael Ellis

Glen,
WOW! You captured the beauty of the birds. You're lucky to get to visit the sites where these beautiful creatures exist.
Thanks for sharing them with us.
