Looking for displays that can handle 1080p at 30 fps
« on: December 27, 2011, 11:14:23 pm »

My XF 305 shoots 1080p at 30 fps, so I would like to find a display that can handle this data rate.

I found an Oppo Blu-ray player that can output 1080p at 30fps, but am having trouble finding a plasma or LCD screen that can display it.

I called Samsung and was told that their plasmas can only do 1080p at 24 fps.

Anyone know of a resource that lists compares displays by their maximum data rate?  I don't want to have to call every manufacturer or crawl through their websites looking for this info.

Forgot to say I'm looking for a 60 inch display.

Thanks.

The sales-people or manufacturer representatives often does not understand this aspect.

Your best bet may be finding a 1080p60 capable display, and count on the bluray/xm/laptop to do the rate-conversion (repeating every frame exactly twice). Most connected PCs will be working at 60 fps, so a display that works well on PCs in general, might work well for 1080p30. Perhaps you should use this as a guide when reading reviews of displays, then test the candidate yourself with the equipment you will be using.
