This was my first prime lens and it is great. I just need to "lighten my load" a bit so I got the 70-300mm zoom, and am selling a couple other lenses.
Before I had a macro lens, I actually used this 300 as a macro, from about 6' away! If you haven't used primes, you should give them a try. It's wonderful.
It's in "10" condition with one exception. The ring that goes with the lens shade sometimes comes off the lens shade. It was actually like this when new, and I meant to send it to Canon, but never did. It doesn't hurt the usage at all. Probably three drops of glue will fix it, but I'd rather leave that to someone else, if it even bothers them.
