manual focus lens for canon video
« on: December 13, 2011, 04:39:38 pm »

hello, I am wondering if there is an online store that carries old zeiss/contax/minolta/whatever other brand manual focus lenses already converted or with converter for shooting video on canon mount bodies. I am looking for someone that has done the work, found the lens, and is selling with these ready to go. I know I will be paying a 'convenience fee'.

I've had good success with the Novoflex Nikon F mount AI-S  type lens to Canon EOS body adapter  (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/197094-REG/Novoflex_EOS_NIK_Lens_Mount_Adapter.html ) and there is also the one from http://www.16-9.net/nikon_g/ for Nikon F mount G-type lenses that has a good reputation.

If the Novoflex and 19-9 pricing is a little rich for your budget, Fotodiox makes a roughly $15.00 version.

If you are considering Nikkors....the AI and other versions made earlier than AIS lenses have a longer focus rotation for more gradual focusing...

This 85/1.8 Nikkor had been modified with a stalk/stem on the focusing barrel for "pulling" a track focus shot..
