I did a quick search and found some older posts on the Schneider, but nothing very recent.

If anyone has experience of either of these on a P65+ or P45+, I would appreciate your thoughts, on
Contrast, color, hyperfocal distance (F8 to F11) and corner sharpness.  Also feedback on shifting, past
15mm.

From what I can determine, the Rodenstock has been around for a while, but the Schneider started shipping
sometime earlier this year.

Thanks

Paul I have the 60 on order should get it next week. It is supposed to be outstanding. Keep ya posted. The Rodie 55 I heard was not in the same class from what the Cambo rep mentioned. I got a TS version. Really looking forward to it

Guy,

Thanks, I will be looking forward to hearing your feedback, especially on shifting on your IQ160.

The 60XL is stunning. The 55HR is just Very Good.

You can download an IQ180 which has been stitched to the limits of a Cambo RS body here:
http://www.captureintegration.com/tests/lens/

If you're a BIG shifter you'll want to think about the Cambo DS or Arca Swiss RL3D or one of the larger Alpas in order to get the most out of this lens.

I agree on the optical quality of these 2 lenses, both excellent.

But Doug, why the adjective "larger" when you mention Alpa cameras?

I would just share a little comparison between the different cameras mentioned here:

Best regards
Thierry

My read of "BIG shifter" is large movements, not camera size.

For what it is worth, I have the 55mm on a cambo/IQ180.  For reference, I have the SK 72mm and SK 90mm and had the SK 47mm.  I go for large image circles (stitching) where I can, I find the 55 and 47 comparable, but on the IQ180 I get more IC out of the 55 with its retro-focus design.  I had a P65 and the 47mm was really nice on that back.  Anyway, I have not used the SK 60mm so can speak to that one, but I am happy with the Rodie 55mm, I can go 20mm down and 15mm L/R with no problems, 25mm is correctable.

From phone.

Yes, I only meant that if you love to stitch or do large movements with a 60xl (huge image circle) that you'd want the Apla XY or Max rather than TC or STC.

Likewise youd want the Arca RL3D rather than RM2D. And Cambo DS rather than Cambo Compact.

Was not meant as a slight in the least.

My apologies Doug, I misunderstood the word.

Guys, could you please help me with one important spec for the 60mm 5.6 Schneider, I can't seem to find it anywhere ... MAXIMUM image angle for a 60mm lens with 120mm IC can't be ... just 53 degrees, as specified on the alpa website, for example. The 70mm Rodenstock Digaron-W, with a 100mm IC has a maximum specced image angle of 70 degrees, so something doesn't add up, for me, at least ... Please help ! :)

A bit of quick maths - based on the centre of the lens being a distance of 60mm away from the film plane @ infinity, and an IC of 120mm, gives an image angle of 90 degrees.
