As I am having an awful time finding this battery (please let me know if you have one for sale) I am considering have my current one rebuilt by
a battery company in Ohio. Please let me know whether anyone has been successful with this method. Many thanks for your input.

Hello Fellow Rollei 6008 User !
If it is the Main battery..... Try ebay - they are all over ebay and offer 4 or 5 times the capacity of the original for $40.00
Graham Mitchell has also done a write up on rebuilding them - great stuff !
Regards
Dennis

just a bit more info..
If you have a bit of skill you certainly can rebuild your old ones and get much better life - but a trick with the old rollei chargers - just charge these new celled ones twice to fill the battery to capacity.
And the new ones at B&H should have higher capacity cells already in them.
A third option is to send your old ones into Rollei Service and they will rebuild them for about $90

+1 for rebuilding using Chinese ebay NiMh cells, as per the instructions on Graham's blog. I recently did this to a couple of batteries, and they seem to last forever.
