The Rock
« on: November 20, 2011, 09:11:06 am »

I've been working on my B+W images but I am saddened to say I have not got the look that I want. No pop or wow effect for me yet so any help would be great.

The images aren't too bad, there may be a bit too much contrast as there's some loss of detail in the shadow areas and the whites are starting to blow out in places. I find that when processing monos in P/shop that "less is more". I try to get the exposures as good as I can in-camera by lots of bracketing. I much prefer a softer approach to black & whites than the harsh constrasty look.

The only real downside to these 2 shots for me is that the horizons are a bit "off kilter" - very important for any landscape shot - get your horizons right.  :)
