on lens ND filters
« on: November 06, 2011, 04:53:02 pm »

looks like I might be buying the scarlet x but I am bummed that they do not have a built in ND filter option. I hate using matte boxes and ND gels. Any recommendations on who makes the best on lens ND filters? Will be needing 6 stops or more on 72mm lens and 52mm lens screw sizes.

Tiffen pro and Schnieder (century lens).

Century has a sale right now in LA, but I wouldn't look at screw sizes, they take too long to screw in (imo).  You may not like matte boxes but good ones swing away and dropping an ND in is painless and fast.

They also block stray light, but if your dead set on screw in's century has them.
