Red and Green Macaw (Peru)
« on: October 17, 2011, 07:51:53 am »

Greetings from Peru everyone!

My appologies for my lack of participation these past 6 weeks. I have been in the Peruvian Amazon and largely away from electricity (let alone internet). After spending 6 weeks in Peru I can tell you all that it is indeed a bird watchers paradise. Where I was staying in Manu National Park has 1000 species  - in one park

I'm just back in Lima for a day to do some laundrey, emailing, etc. and then I'm back off into the field. I'll be visiting some pretty remote regions of the central highlands and have a few gems that I am after.

In any case here is a spectacular bird from the lowlands - the Red and Green Macaw. I am not very confident in the calibration of my laptop. Rather...it is a $350 laptop and probably cannot be calibrated accurately. I did the best I could on this one and hopefully it looks Ok.

All the best everyone!

Glenn

+1!

I'd be tempted to go out and buy a $350 laptop if I thought it would get me captures like that one (or any of the others you've posted).  ;)

Another nice one.
