Re-formulated 35mm lens for Hy6
« on: October 10, 2011, 10:43:09 pm »

Has anyone seen or actually used the re-formulated 35mm Flektogon lens for the Rollei/Sinar/Leaf Hy6?
I guess a better question is, did it ever come out? I never hear anything about it.

It's been a long time, but AFAIK they are still working on it.  Word has it they haven't dropped the plan.  If I was to do a careful estimate, photokina 2012 would be my guess.

I finally assembled a Horseman SW-DII rig with the 24mm Schneider XL and the Sinar eMotion 75LV as the wide angle end of my Hy6 set-up.  Perhaps a little bit more weight and camera, but probably the way to go in terms of image quality.  And price as well, I am afraid...  And wide angle reach.  This particular combination equals a 20mm wide angle in 35mm terms.  Great match for either the 50mm AFD or the 40mm SA in terms of focal length stacking.

Does your eMotion back have multi-shot capability?

No, that's not a multishot back

That's true, Graham.

It would be nice to see the 35mm come out though.  Would be very convenient.
